Hello!
At the age of 11, my life took a new direction when I moved to Madeira Island. This
transition brought challenges of adaptation but also served as a catalyst for my passion for
art. Art became my refuge, a way to explore and communicate the feelings that resided within
me while I adjusted to my new surroundings. My formal education in visual arts began at
Francisco Franco High School in Madeira, where I studied Visual Arts. However, my artistic
journey has always been driven by self-teaching.
I take an eclectic approach to artistic materials, frequently using watercolor, India ink,
and oil pastels in my works. My art transcends the conventional, diving deep into the
consciousness. It is a metaphorical exploration of emotions and the human condition, often
incorporating the element of the eye as a visual metaphor. My surreal and abstract style
invites the viewer on an introspective journey, with each piece offering an invitation to
explore the complexities of the inner self. Under my brand Eeye.see, I have been a constant
presence at various art and craft markets in Germany and Madeira since 2022. My work has
also achieved recognition beyond the local scene, being highlighted on the cover of the
Madeira Island newspaper βPonto e VΓrgulaβ in 2019 with one of my pieces.
Currently, I am engaged in a vibrant project painting a door in the old town of Funchal,
contributing to the rich cultural tapestry and patrimony of the city, inviting both locals
and visitors to experience my artistic vision.
Despite the challenges, I continue to forge my own path as an artist, navigating the
uncertain and independent road I have chosen. My artistic journey is a continuous quest for
authenticity and pure expression of my creative vision, where I find a deep connection with
the world around me, a continuation of the childhood that shaped my imagination and soul.
